About n8n

n8n is an automation platform that can act as an MCP client. Connecting it with Mida lets a workflow or agent read experiment results, create drafts, and manage goals on a schedule or in response to events, without anyone opening the dashboard.

How the n8n integration works

Mida exposes a remote MCP server at https://mcp.mida.so/mcp. n8n's MCP Client Tool connects to it over streamable HTTP and registers itself with Mida's OAuth server, so the AI Agent in your workflow can call Mida tools as the user who signed in.

Requirements

  • An n8n Cloud or self-hosted instance with the MCP Client Tool node.
  • A workflow with an AI Agent node, if you want the agent to choose Mida tools itself.
  • An active Mida dashboard account with access to the right project.

How to use n8n with Mida

  1. In your workflow, open the AI Agent node, add a tool, and choose MCP Client Tool.
  2. Set Server Transport to HTTP Streamable and the endpoint URL to https://mcp.mida.so/mcp.
  3. Set Authentication to MCP OAuth2 and create a new credential. Turn on Use Dynamic Client Registration, enter https://mcp.mida.so as the Server URL, click Connect, then sign in with Mida and choose your project.
  4. Leave Tools to Include on All, or pick only the read tools (such as list_experiments and get_experiment_result) for a workflow that should never write.

Use cases

Send a weekly test summary

Run a n8n workflow every Monday that lists running Mida experiments, reads each result, and posts a short summary to Slack, Teams, or email.

Flag tests that need a decision

Check results on a schedule and alert the owner when a variant looks like a clear winner or loser, or a test has run long enough to call.

Answer test questions where your team already works

Let people ask how a test is doing from chat, and have n8n fetch the answer from Mida with their own Mida sign-in.

Turn requests into draft tests

When a test idea lands in a form, ticket, or spreadsheet, have n8n create a Mida draft so it is ready for review. Drafts never go live on their own.

Example use case

Illustrative demo only — not connected to your account. After you connect Mida, your assistant can help monitor experiments and notify your team when something is worth acting on.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to share a Mida API key with n8n?

No. Use the Mida MCP server URL and sign in with Mida when prompted. Do not paste API keys into your assistant.

Can n8n launch experiments automatically?

MCP creates drafts by default where supported, so you can review changes in Mida before launching. You remain in control of what goes live.

Which Mida project does n8n use?

During authorization, choose the Mida project the assistant should use. If you manage multiple projects, verify the selected project before creating tests, goals, or personalizations.

What MCP server URL should I use?

Use https://mcp.mida.so/mcp as the remote MCP server URL.
